What is hepatitis B?

According to the World Health Organisation, hepatitis B is a potentially life-threatening liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). It is a major global health problem. It can cause chronic infection and puts people at high risk of death from cirrhosis and liver cancer.

To protect yourself against hepatitis B, complete a 3 dose vaccination course and any booster doses if necessary.

Corporate COVID-19 Antibody Test

Would you like to test your team for COVID-19? We are offering corporate COVID-19 Antibody tests. For 10 and above COVID-19 tests booked, we can come to your place of work and test your employees.

How does the COVID-19 test work?

With results in only 10 minutes, the COVID-19 antibody test is a finger prick test which identifies if the body has developed an antibody response to a COVID-19 infection. It is not a viral test to identify if you currently have COVID-19. 

The test is highly sensitive and specific detecting IgG antibodies; however, no test can be 100% accurate:

>99.9% sensitivity – this means that among 1,000 people who have had coronavirus, almost 100% of them will correctly test positive.

98% specificity – this means that among 1,000 people who have not had coronavirus, 980 of them will correctly test negative.

Please note that until proven, the presence of COVID-19 antibodies does not mean that you have immunity against further infection of the virus.

The antibody test should only be performed 21 days after recovery from COVID-19 symptoms or 28 days after contact with someone with COVID-19 symptoms. This is to ensure that there has been enough time for detectable antibodies to have built up in the blood.

Corporate COVID-19 PCR Swab Test

Our health care professionals will take a swab from inside your throat and nose. This swab is then tested for the virus itself and identifies the Viral DNA. The results are available within 48 hours.

This swab test detects active presence of the virus i.e. shows that you currently have COVID-19 or not.

Swabs are analysed in a laboratory with results back in 3 working days.

The cost of the consultation, PCR swab test undertaken by our health care professional , Pathology report and Fit to Fly Medical Certificate indicating that you are ‘Covid 19 Negative’ is £170.
